As well as worship on Sundays at 2.45pm there are regular mid-week Bible studies led by our pastor, Frank. We always have a good discussion in a friendly and open atmosphere.
On the first thursday of each month there is the Soup & Roll Club which is run by Sheila and her team of volunteers. Local elderly people come and enjoy conversation and plenty of laughs over a bowl of soup and a roll, a cup of tea and cheese and biscuits. There's always some entertainment after we've eaten, a game, a talk by a visitor or a performance of some sort.
On the second friday of each month church members go to the Crosspool Tavern for a social drink together. It's always a cheerful occasion, and no one talks shop! We meet at the pub at 8.00pm, but before that there's silent prayer and reflection accompanied by sacred music (somtimes on the organ, sometimes recorded) at the church from 7.00pm for those who want to put the week in perspective and collect their thoughts first.
Each summer there's a Church Camp where lots of fun is had by church members of all ages!
There's plenty of other social activities that occur throught the year - including talks, pea & pie suppers, games evenings/afternoons, and seasonal fayres. You can find out more about forthcoming events in the church diary, or to read about what you've missed go to the church blog. |
