The Church Secretary is Keith Bradley, a lifelong member of the church who is also the Church's treasurer. He is also a life long supporter of Sheffield United, so between the Blades and Tapton Hill Church he has been no stranger to ups and downs over the years. Hopefully (for Keith) the years ahead will be a time of growth and success for both his lifelong passions! His other interests include walking and gardening.
The Church Secretary is not simply an administrative role, but is more like the General Secretary of a large voluntary organisation. In fact administrative duties, such as pulpit supply and minute-taking at church meetings are tasks performed by other office holders.
The Church Secretary's role is to work with the other church leaders, (the Pastor and the Deacons) to ensure that the life of the church runs smoothly, that lines of communication are clear and well-maintained, and that decisions of the church meeting are carried out.
The Church Secretary is also the representative of the membership, offering leadership alongside, (and in the absence of) the Pastor. As such it was Keith that ordained Frank as the Church's Pastor on behalf of the whole church. The Secretary is elected by the members and stands for re-election at each Annual General Meeting.
